Year 9 ‘Learning by Doing’ Incursion: Building a Sustainable Future
On Wednesday 26 February, our Year 9 students took part in an inspiring Learning by Doing incursion, focused on sustainability and hands-on design. Led by the learning by doing group, the workshop provided students with the opportunity to construct their own wooden wind turbines using hand tools and woodworking benches.
A big thank you to Johnathon for guiding students through this engaging experience. The activity not only reinforced sustainability principles but also encouraged critical thinking, problem-solving, and practical design skills. Students responded with enthusiasm, taking pride in their creations and deepening their understanding of renewable energy.
This incursion was a fantastic example of learning beyond the classroom, demonstrating how hands-on experiences can enhance education in meaningful ways. Well done to all involved!
