50th Birthday Celebrations

Fairhills is 50!!!

Fairhills High School is a beacon of education, having served the community for five decades. As we celebrate our 50th year, we extend a warm invitation to all who have been part of our journey. This milestone is not just about reminiscing on the past; it is an opportunity to honor the countless lives that have been shaped within these walls.

Throughout its five decades, Fairhills High School has consistently upheld its commitment to academic excellence.  The school has also established a remarkable history in interschool competitions; from the sporting, cultural and academic fields, our school has always been well represented.

Our students have always represented our school with pride at local, state and national levels in basketball, volleyball, debating, chess, and the renowned Rock Eisteddfod, just to name a few. We have always been a school known for new and exciting programs, such as being the one of the first schools in Victoria to offer Japanese as a second language, and our SEAL course, which gave students a chance to Accelerate their learning.

Over the years, our students have consistently showcased their exceptional skills and talents, bringing home numerous trophies and accolades. This success is a reflection of the dedication of our teachers and the hard work of our students.

As we reflect on our rich heritage, we cannot overlook the significant influence of Japanese and German culture within our school. Over the years, Fairhills has fostered a deep appreciation for Japanese and German traditions and language among its students.

The school’s dedication to fostering cultural exchange has also resulted in various partnerships with Japanese schools. Through these collaborations, students have been able to experience firsthand the vibrant customs and traditions of Japan. These exchanges have not only broadened their horizons but also forged lasting friendships across borders.

As we look back on 50 years of excellence, we also look forward with excitement for what lies ahead. The future holds endless possibilities for Fairhills High School as it continues its mission of nurturing bright minds and fostering a sense of community.

Join us as we celebrate this momentous occasion – a testament to resilience, growth, and unwavering dedication in providing quality education. Let us come together as one big Fairhills family, cherishing the past and embracing the future.

Fairhills 50th Sunday Funday – Sunday 8 October 2023

Bring the whole family for a trip down memory lane in the sunshine, while enjoying fun activities, food and friends!

To further celebrate our deep connection with Japan, we are thrilled to announce that we will be hosting a Cosplay competition during the upcoming 50th Sunday Funday celebrations.

Cosplay, a combination of “costume” and “play,” originated in Japan and has become an integral part of the country’s culture, particularly among the otaku community. This unique form of self-expression allows individuals to embody their favourite fictional characters through crafted costumes.

Open to the whole community you can register at: https://forms.gle/h32HAwMcFHdtJJDj9

We look forward to seeing a bright array of costumes at our celebration day.
